This dichroic mirror is designed and made by Erin Hupp on her potter's wheel. Made of porcelain clay, the parts of the mirror that are unglazed are finely textured raw clay. Portions of the mirror is textured and bubbly, while others are smooth alabaster glaze. The tinted mirror is dichroric and changes color as your position relative to the mirror changes - from chroma pink, to magenta to bright rust orange.
Erin's mirrors take her art to a new plane – from the horizontal chef's table to the vertical wall. Her mirrors create moments of focus on and connection with the details of the space that surrounds you. Experience glimpses of fabrics, colors, textures, art, light, and the people present in the room. They offer a shift in perspective in the very space you occupy and layers and depth to the room.
Ceramic artist Erin Hupp designs and creates bespoke, hand-crafted ceramics on her pottery wheel. From lighting to mirrors, her work achieves balance between function and form. Her work has been described as organic and sensory. Her work can currently be experienced at Californios, Nightbird, Sons and Daughters, Pasta Bar, Acquerello, Sorrel, and Stanly Ranch Auberge Resort. Erin has been creating her art, by hand, on her potter’s wheel for the past 25 years and is featured in Business of Home, Luxe, Forbes and Design Milk.
