About the Item
This work aims to explore the relationship between matter and time. Inspired by the craftsmanship of counterfeiting bronzes, the artist "accelerated" the brand-new bronze to a "natural" blue-green state as a reflection of thousand years passing, exhibiting how time seems to be folded under man's manipulation of matter. The rotating hour hand freezes during the rotation. The stainless steel mirror is a reflection of physical existence. Thus the work is a reflection of how people, matter, and time collude with illusion and reality.
