French Mid-18th Century Provincial Giltwood Mirror
About the Item
A sensational and grand scale French mid 18th century, circa 1740, Provençal giltwood mirror. The frame has a central bottom reserve of a floral rosette amidst scrolled acanthus leaves, flanked by foliate supports. The pierced sides with mirror plates have a robust design of large grape vines and foliage. The top has a pierced central reserve of a large basket filled with fruits amidst scrolls and acanthus leaves. Exquisite quality with all original gilt and mirror plates.
