About the Item

A monumental and most impressive Italian 18th century Baroque period Giltwood mirror. This stately large scaled mirror with all original gilding and mirror plate is made with elaborate Rocaille style designs of scrolling acanthus leaves throughout. These statement making designs throughout surround a finely mottled Original rectangular mirror in the center. The intricate pierced top crown is decorated by floral designs and scrolling acanthus leaf carvings with swaging laurel designs.
