An impressive and large scale Italian 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood mirror. The mirror displays an arched top with elegant lightly curved elements and is framed within a beautiful mottled border with a unique finely detailed sunburst like band and interlocking geometric patterns with laurel leaves. At either side of the straight base are large scrolled acanthus leaves leading up the sides also repeated above amidst a draped floral garland. The mirror retains its original mirror plate set within a most decorative straight and arched shaped frame.
