About the Item
This French early 18th century Louis XV period giltwood mirror is a lovely antique piece that fascinates us with its discreet
elegance, rounded edges, nature-inspired inlays and convenient size. The frame features hand-carved pierced wood floral and
foliate motifs all with gold leaf finish.
The original mercury glass is set in this wonderful moulded frame decorated with branches, leaves and flowers throughout.
This very charming piece of narrow proportion retains its gilding with original patina.
Both the mirror and the frame are in overall good condition with only very minor wear consistent with age and use. Mercury
mirror and wood backside are original to the piece.
Thanks to its scale, the mirror is the perfect antique addition for an entrance or powder room.
