Large Italian Capodimonte Porcelain Hollywood Regency Mirror with Cherubs and Flowers, 1950s
A lavish Italian Capodimonte porcelain mirror, richly adorned with playful cherubs (putti) and finely crafted porcelain flowers. Hand-painted in soft pastel shades with gilt highlights, the frame showcases the exquisite detail and decorative artistry typical of Capodimonte. At the crest, a central cherub is surrounded by ornate scrolls and floral motifs, while additional cherubs embellish the sides and corners.
This striking piece perfectly embodies the opulence and glamour of the Hollywood Regency era, while drawing inspiration from 18th-century Rococo Revival design. Condition:
Excellent original condition with no restorations. As is common with Capodimonte mirrors, there may be tiny, negligible losses to some flowers or putti, though this example is remarkably well preserved and close to perfect condition. Two small gilt-bronze flowers that originally covered mounting screws are missing on the lower left side of the frame (see photo). These details are hardly noticeable and do not detract from the overall beauty and decorative appeal. Mirror glass with light, age-related traces.
