Polished stainless steel

Zieta is best known for his collection of stools “Plopp” made through the technologist Fidu. With the same principle Zieta Prozessdesign conceived mirror collections made of stainless steel called “Tafla”, “Rondo” and “Rondel”. Two laser-cut metal sheets are first welded together before air is injected between them until they separate from each other forming a three-dimensional object.

Mirrors designed by Zieta Studio are not just objects that reflect reality and adorn the interior, amplifying it optically. Such objects as TAFLA O are tridimensional designer’s mirrors worth the best contemporary living spaces.
TAFLA metal mirrors come in numerous shapes and sizes: from large round mirrors to geometric smaller sculptural forms. TAFLA O, TAFLA C and TAFLA Q are artistic variations of the same concept – of creating a decorative sculptural mirror out of inflated steel using FiDU technology. Some of them are characterized by a minimalist simplicity and respect for proportions, some are distinguished by a soft line of organic form. There is such a diversity that arranging them together reminds of storytelling. Would it be a story of water drops or pieces of shattered glass immortalized on the wall – it is the question of space and imagination.
Special qualities of the TAFLA O mirror:
They are destined to be composed into fantastic wall decorations – it’s up to you, what kind of installation you will create on the wall. While a single TAFLA mirror makes a statement in the interior, multiple TAFLA mirrors in various sizes and shapes add even more style to it.
Style and intended use:
TAFLA O is a series of bionic mirrors of organic shapes inspired by natural shapes of liquid drops – some will say they resemble mercury drops in a macro-scale.
TAFLA O mirror comes in seven different sizes – it can be arranged in an artistic personalized composition or exposed on a wall as a single sculpture-like mirror. It will fit contemporary private spaces, as well as restaurants, bars and hotel rooms.

Mirrors from the TAFLA collection are made of stainless steel polished to a high gloss.

On the polished surface of the TAFLA mirrors, all steel refractions are perfectly visible – the artistic effect of the "controlled loss of control" process of shaping their form. Each convexity visible on this wall mirror’s surface is unique – because steel never deforms in exactly the same way.

Tafla collection is a radical step towards such transformations. Mirrors made with FiDU technology are a result of free deformation caused by high internal pressure. This process creates objects of great durability yet of subtle structure.

About the artist/ designer:
Oskar Zieta – an architect, designer, artist and innovator. Born in 1975, after he graduated architecture at Szczecin University of Technology in 2000, he has got a scholarship at ETH Zurich. Over the course of 2 years of postgraduate studies he developed skills in parametric design and modern manufacturing technologies finalized with PhD graduation. Currently he runs the department of industrial design at School of Form. Laureate of many prestigious awards in design and technology. Inventor of FiDU - inner pressure metal forming technology - the keystone to Zieta Collection, Zieta Out of Ordinary as well as large scale sculptures like NAWA on Daliowa Island in Wroclaw and WIR in Galeria Pólnocna in Wroclaw.
