Pair of Italian Early 19th Century St. Giltwood Mirrors from the Lombardi Region
About the Item
A magnificent and monumentally scaled pair of Italian early 19th century st. giltwood mirrors from the Lombardi region. Each mirror retains its original mirror plate set within a most elegant mottled frame with finely detailed Les Oves patterns, fine foliate designs, and beaded bands. At each side of the straight base are superb scrolled designs adorned with richly carved fruit and finely detailed luxuriant scrolled foliate movements that lead up each side. The stunning top crowns are centered by finely detailed hand painted medallions of charming vivid colored flowers below scrolled designs, winged masks flanked by griffins, and striking architectural elements at each side. All original gilt throughout.
