About the Item

Boost your private interior with the exquisite artistry of Robert Pansart, whose visionary design shines through this rare pair of églomisé mirrored glass wall-mounted panels, crafted circa 1940. These substantial masterpieces capture the elegance of chinoiserie, featuring a beautifully rendered man and woman in traditional attire, their presence framed by neoclassical motifs that exude grandeur and sophistication. The luminous giltwood framing enhances the panels' regal allure, perfectly complementing the intricate églomisé craftsmanship. A remarkable fusion of artistic heritage and timeless luxury, these stunning pieces are an extraordinary find for collectors and connoisseurs alike. Artist Robert Pansart designed this fabulous pair of églomisé mirrored glass wall-mounted panels circa 1940. The rare panels feature an elongated shape with Asian-inspired figurines (chinoiserie), a man and a woman in traditional outfits surrounded by iconic neoclassical decor. Dimensions: 9.07 in wide (23 cm) by 24.44 in high (62 cm) by 1.19 in deep (3 cm). Reference: Robert Pansart (1909-1973) was a French glassmaker and decorator known for his etched, oxidized, and églomisé glass techniques. He worked with his team of more than ten employees from the post-war years to the 1960s. Pansart is well-known for his mirrors adorned with figures and arabesque decors. He has also created many pieces of furniture in fantastic baroque shapes, evoking the world of fairy tales in a typical 1940s style. He is, with Pierre Lardin and Max Ingrand, one of the most famous and talented glassmakers of the 1940s. André Grozdanovich was his principal collaborator, designer, and decorator. They cooperated during the last two decades of the workshop. In addition, the company collaborated with independent designers such as Serge Roche, Lucie Dolt, and Marc du Plantier. The workshop also produced glass table tops for Gilbert Poillerat and Raymond Subes, famous French ironworkers.
