Round double wall mirror by Rodney Kinsman for Bieffeplast, Italy. The large main mirror is fixed to the wall with a built in backplate that allows for horizontal hanging as pictured, or vertical hanging. The mirror's steel frame pivots at 180 degrees, and holds a second smaller double-sided mirror. The small double-sided mirror pivots 360 degrees in place. A strong and functional design that takes on a new dimension with each new positioning. Diameter of large mirror (no frame): 21.5 in. Diameter of small mirror with its attached black frame: 10.7 in. Diameter of small mirror without its attached frame: 9.9 in. Full width of mirror flat with small mirror extended against the wall as shown in first photo: 33.9 in. Height of large mirror with frame, from top chrome knob to bottom chrome knob: 24.25 Height of small mirror with frame, from top chrome knob to bottom chrome knob: 12.75 Rodney Kinsman designs produced by Bieffeplast boast an elegant Postmodern style. Contemporary and timeless. With over 20 designs, Kinsman is the designer by whom Bieffeplast produced the most designs. Founded in 1954 as Bieffe, the company produced office furniture in wood, and then in metal. In the 1980s, Anna Anselmi created the Bieffeplast division that would go on to produce many design classics. It became a climax in the age of the industrial production of minimal and radical post-modern furniture in Italy. Bieffeplast edited the popes of radical Italian design like Matteo Thun, Joe Colombo, Anna Anselmi, Umberto Riva, Ettore Sottsass, Michele De Lucchi, Aldo Cibic, Massimo Iosa Ghini, and more. Rodney Kinsman has been responsible for great technical and stylistic advancements in the design world since the sixties. Kinsman studied furniture design at the central school of art in London. In 1966 he founded OMK Design with Bryan Morrison to produce the furniture they design, and for 15 years Kinsman designed successful products for the early Habitat stores. His first big breakthrough was the Omstak chair, considered a 1970s high tech chair and now a museum worthy icon of design history.
