About the Item

Gorgeous late 19th century English aesthetic movement bed beautifully crafted from fruitwood and decorated with birds eye maple veneers. The faux-bamboo frame is highly embellished with geometric bamboo designs and thick faux bamboo bed posts on each corner ending with turned finials. The bed is complete with a headboard, footboard, side rails, new slats, and all original hardware. The thick, chunky bed posts are supported by small wood casters. The bed has a distinctive profile and large scale. The interior mattress opening measures 74 inches long and nearly 47 inches deep. The wood has a desirable aged patina to commensurate its age and use as seen in photos. The frame is sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Rare, larger size than most. Close in measurements to a full size.
