About the Item
The Bergère bed is a classic, French style, Louis XVI design.
This period was founded on the "Beau Idéal': the idealisation of beauty, based on the purity and grandeur of the ancient Greeks and Romans.
The bed's frame is embellished with finely, hand-carved 'egg and dart' work, French beading, and ribboning, all in the neoclassical style. The bed's columns are finished with stylized Fleure-de-lys finials of the period. The proportions and styling of the bed convey a quiet confidence.
All our beds are hand-carved and hand-finished in-house. With customization as an option. Upholstered version available upon request
The price quoted for here is for a US King size: 76inches x 80inches mattress size, painted in one tone of your choice.
Other finishes are available such as Two Tone/with painted highlights and Two Tone/with hand gilded highlights.
