Circa early 1900's Italian Rococo Style Large Gilt-wood Headboard
About the Item
A Large Headboard from Florence, Italy, Circa early 1900's, capturing the ornate elegance of the Rococo period. The headboard is made up of embellished S curves with a large stylised acanthus leaf at its apex for the central motif. The piece is finished in a silver leaf, 'Mecca' patina, traditional to Italy, which has its own unique silver/gold lustre. The patina has aged to create a textured overall finish revealing its various layers. The overall width of 190cm, can facilitate various large mattress sizes.

A Unique bed by La Maison London, masters of fine wood carving - A Rococo style Four Poster Bed which has a hidden top bed within its 2 tier design. The top section has been designed to look like a canopy so that the bed visually presents as a Four Poster. The design allows for the ladder to be positioned either side of the bed or neither when the second tier is not in use. There are simple slip in sections that can be put in for when the ladder is not in use.
