About the Item

Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, set consisting of a double bed, headboard and nightstands, oak, Italy, 1980s Giuseppe Rivadossi once again proves his great eye for materialization and technicality this wonderful bedroom set is exemplary for. The set consists of a sculptural headboard, two nightstands and an awe-inspiring bedframe. Overall, the design has a strong visual impact and showcases the high-level of craftsmanship this bed has been made with. The wooden surface beautifully showcases the impact of the artist’s hand and his movement to treat the wood with the use of intensive hand-planed and trimmed techniques. A remarkable aspect of the bed is the sculptural incisions in the head board. This bed is a real design gem which has not only stood the test of time but will also serve as a standout piece in one’s interior. Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture.
