About the Item
The Avant-Après bed has a sober allure and an elegant presence. Grounded yet lightweight, it transforms into extremely interesting configurations thanks to the particular headboards that can be positioned along the bases’s perimeter. The bed-frame, available for upholstery in fabric or leather, rests neatly on a metal base finished with painted metal feet.
Born in 1953 he left formal education and began, almost by chance, his experience in the field of the padded furniture. Fascinated by the world that surrounded him, he eagerly devoted himself to researching building forms and techniques which have borne fruit for the companies in which he worked. In 1991 he opened his studio as an independent designer and in 1993 he came across Saba Italia. New challenges and new incentives lead to the creation of the “nomad sofa”: Taos, Ananta, Limes, Nesting, Pixel. Creations that were born from reflection of new desires that encourage us to live in a less formal way, equipped with systems that enable change with simple gestures, by playing with shapes.
Structure: Base in painted metal. Back panels are in plywood covered with velfodera on pressed 300gr/sqm. Their anchorage with base is guaranteed through painted metal plate equipped with brackets
Feet: In metal painted finished RAL 7021 or satin chrome
Bed Base: Orthopedic bed base in semirigid plywood with millings for ventilating the mattress and covered with velfodera on pressed 300gr/sqm. The solution for people who want a more rigid base.

Sergio Bicego
Furniture designer Sergio Bicego produces works that merge luxury and comfort. Lavishly stuffed and sumptuously upholstered, each piece is inviting in its joining of function and beauty. He designs pieces that meet an ideal of form, instilled with elegant curves and smart lines, along with soft, serene colors, all adding tranquil energy to any space. His sofas epitomize the comfortable appeal of his creations, possessing an allure of ease and freedom from constraint.
Born in Italy in 1953, Bicego began his formal education with classical studies. He left school before graduation and found his way into the field of furniture upholstery. In learning the trade, Bicego became fascinated by the styles and shapes of furniture.
In 1991, Bicego established his furniture design studio. In 1993, he met Amelia Pegorin, owner of Saba Italia. In 1999, Saba Italia launched a line of sofas by Bicego. It became one of the company’s best sellers, remaining among its top items today.
Bicego has since designed many popular lines for Saba Italia and has collaborated with other design companies. In 2016, he created the Alcove model sofa for Alberta Made in Italy. Bicego continues to partner with top-name makers and create designs from his studio in San Martino di Lupari, Italy.

Limes Large is the most generous option within the Limes collection, thanks to the two wider sides that allow for a functional and unusual support. The rectangular feet in transparent methacrylate onto which the base is rested, make the bed appear to float.

Structure: It includes the bed base with wooden slats. Bedframe is in wood padded with polyurethane foam clothed with velfodera coupled to polyester fiber 150gr/sqm. The headboard supports are in metal with chromed finish. Optionally they can be clothed in quilted fabric padded with polyester fiber or can be clothed with bands of fabric coupled with pressed 300gr/sqm.
Feet: 14 cm high, in transparent methacrylate with rectangular section.
