Pair of Fine Bronze Mounted Empire Beds

About the Item

An outstanding pair of period Empire bronze-mounted beds in overall very good condition. The figural end column forms feature well cast busts and feet, and there are wreaths, Angels, horns and vases also featured in the bronze mounts. The exterior dimensions are given below and the interior dimensions are 39.75" wide by 80" long. Interior oak side rails are notched to accept four cross pieces to hold the mattress. Each Bed measures 84” long by 45.25” deep by 45” high. Condition: Please see detail photos. One rail has an earlier repair. The presentation is very good with expected time borne wear including some nicks, stable age cracks, veneer losses, finish losses and rubs to the frames and various slight acceptable age related wear with the beds presenting in a very fine manner.
