About the Item
Late 19th Century Brass and Wood Model Cannon, dated 25 August 1888 and signed “G. Meyer.” This finely crafted miniature artillery piece features a solid brass barrel mounted on a detailed wooden carriage with spoked brass wheels and iron fittings, faithfully replicating period military cannon design. The engraved date and maker’s signature suggest it may have been a presentation piece, commemorative model, or skilled artisan’s work for display. Well-preserved with an attractive patina, it exemplifies 19th-century craftsmanship in both metalworking and woodworking.
