Mid-Century Modern Cast Aluminum Stylized Airplane Model or Sculpture & Stand

About the Item

This airplane model or sculpture is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from the United States and dating to approximately 1945 and done in the period streamlined Mid-Century Modern style. The plane is composed of cast and brushed aluminum with a lucite disk as a propeller and is fastened to tilting type bracket and stands on a streamlined, stepped metal base. The plane can be tilted frontwards and backwards and secured with a wing nut. The stylized lucite propeller gives the impression of the propeller being in motion.

Unique Art Deco Styled Chrome Jet Airplane Lighted Smoker's Stand or Table

This very unique lighted smoker's stand is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in North America, likely the United States, in approximately 1950 in an Art Deco style. This smoker's stand is done in chromed metal with a streamlined and stylized jet fighter airplane suspended between the cast handle and table top. The base is nicely pierced and decorated with geometric designs and is accented by a molded glass dome light done with marbled colors. The light turns on and off with a switch on the base and the electrical elements have been completely restored.
