This is the first full catalog raisonné of George Stubbs's (1724-1806) paintings and drawings; its' beautifull illustrated plates are accompanied by a full catalog entries. Stubbs, renowned for his animal paintings, was also a perceptive observer of all levels of social behavior, from English sporting to simple country life. This book offers a lengthy study of his art and career.
