Art Deco Turquoise Guilloche and Sterling Chatelaine Tiny Ring Compact

About the Item

Art Deco turquoise guilloche and sterling chatelaine tiny ring compact with hand-painted flower design. Perfect for primping! This somewhat ball-shaped guilloche enamel and sterling chatelaine style dance ring compact is turquoise or sea green and sterling with hand-painted tiny flowers. It opens to reveal a place for powder or rouge and a tiny mirror. It is marked inside "sterling" and WB inside a diamond-shaped box. After much research we have been unable to determine maker. This is an exceptionally pretty little ring compact and in wonderful condition. We have not cleaned or polished the silver. We will leave that up to the end owner as I know there are those out there who prefer the patinated silver as opposed to the polished silver. This sweet compact measures only 1.5 inches in diameter and 7/8 inches high. The chain length to the ring is 3 inches and the ring itself has a 7/8 inch diameter so approximately a size 12 ring size which is meant to go on the middle finger. This would make a lovely "something old" gift for a bride, an awesome "sweet 16" gift, or for many other wonderful keepsake gifting opportunities. Measures: Compact diameter – 1.5 inches. Depth – 7/8 inch. Over-all length – 5.25 inches. Weight – under 1 pound. Boxed: Length- 3 inches Width- 3 inches Height- 3 inches Weight- 3 pounds

Art Deco 1928 Ladies Compact by Richard Hudnut
By Richard Hudnut
Located in Devon, England
For your consideration is this excellent condition Art Deco ladies combination compact dating to 1928. This is a classic Art Deco Richard Hudnut Le Debut Cloisonné Powder, Rouge and Mirror Compact and is an absolute delight in every aspect and genuinely has appears never to have been used. This compact features a black enamel lid with cream dotted accents; the back of the compact has a spider web machine-tooled finish to accent the octagonal shape of the compact. The case opens to a rouge compartment with a mirror in the lid that is behind a gold toned Art Deco decorated cover. The loose powder compartment is in the lower section of the compact; and it has a hinged and latched recessed door to hold a puff. This feature was a later addition to the initial solid powder product release of 1924 and has the patent date stamped on the underside of the hinged door reflecting an issue date of 1928. The original rouge is in untouched condition and still shows the embossed name Le Debut while the loose powder well is empty. Inside it is hallmarked "Le Debut", "Richard Hudnut" on the Art Deco mirror frame...
