From 1908 to 1910, Likarz attended the Art School for Women and Girls in Vienna, where she was a student of Otto Friedrich, among others. She studied art at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts under Josef Hoffmann, Rosalia Rothansl and Anton Kenner from 1910 to 1914 and worked as a graphic designer for the Wiener Werkstätte while still a student. Likarz later taught at the Burg Giebichenstein School of Arts and Crafts from 1916 to 1920, where she was the first female member of the teaching staff to set up a workshop for enamel work. From 1912 to 1914 and from 1920 until its dissolution in 1931, she worked at the Wiener Werkstätte, where she was mainly active in the field of advertising graphics. She designed postcards, advertisements, posters, wrapping paper, stationery and marbled paper (Tunkpapiere). Later, she devoted herself increasingly to ceramics and enamel, before turning her attention Dimensions: height: 20,0 cm / 7.87 in width: 16,0 cm / 6.29 in Bibliography: Online archive of the MAK, Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, Archive of the Wiener Werkstätte, inventory number: WWF 109-17-3, similar example, inventory number: WWF 106-12-3, similar decoration. Founding members in 1903 were Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser and the industrialist Fritz Waerndorfer, who made a name for himself as an art patron. On September 2, 1905, WW signed Carl Otto Czeschka as another designer. The role model was the British 'Arts and Crafts Movement'. The aim of the workshop was to renew the concept of art in the field of arts and crafts. Here she worked with the Vienna Secession and the Vienna School of Applied Arts. Everyday objects as well as jewelry and furniture were produced.Ceramics were an integral part of the product range of WW, which were originally produced outside in cooperation or taken over on commission. With the establishment of the in-house artist workshops in 1917, a renewal took place: The colorful expressiveness and free artistic expression of the ceramics created there differed significantly from the purism of the previous production.
