19th Century Cast Iron Hand Forged English Key Makers Trade sign Hand forged solid cast iron 19th Century key makers trade sign, with the letter “R” or “B” in the central lock section surrounded by small leaf and cross’s design motifs. One of the oldest examples we have uncovered to date and completely untouched in form. With its original hanging bracket (which has mainly broken off) still visible. Size in inches: H 32” x W 10” x D 2.5” Origin: English Date: Late 19th Century Condition: Aged Solid in structure and form, made in 2 parts the hand and main shaft are joined together. The original bracket section has broken of many years ago. Covered in rust due to being kept outside all its life. This item weights close to 15kg.
