19th century cast iron shoemaker’s trade sign A highly decorative example of a late 19th century cast iron French shoemakers shop trade sign. Hand crafted from a hand cut iron metal sheet and attached to a wrought iron wall bracket. This item would have hung outside a shoemaker’s store to advert services in the late 19th century. Size in inches: H 19” x W 30” x D 1” Period: 19th century Material: Iron Origin: French Condition: Worn Completely solid in structure and form, one support bracket is broken however this doesn’t affect the stability of the sign. Aged, flacked painted surface with rust showing in sections. This item would have hung outside a store many years ago but now due to its current condition would be better placed flat against a wall.
