About the Item

Antique Bohemian Gilt and Enamelled Blue Glass Chatelaine Scent Bottle, circa 1870 A finely decorated 19th-century Bohemian scent bottle, crafted in deep cobalt blue glass and adorned with hand-applied gilt foliate scrolls and delicate white enamel floral accents. Of petite ovoid form, the piece features a threaded gilt-metal neck with a suspended chain—likely designed to be worn on a lady’s chatelaine or kept within a travel case or necessaire. This charming perfume flask dates to circa 1870–1890 and reflects the refined decorative taste of late 19th-century Continental glasswork. While the original screw cap is no longer present, the bottle remains visually appealing, with attractive wear and patina consistent with age. Dimensions: Height: 4.5 cm (1.77 in.) Width: 2.5 cm (0.98 in.) Chain length approx. 7.5 cm (2.95 in.) Condition: Wear to gilding; minor oxidation to metal mounts; original screw-on lid absent. Origin: Bohemia, late 19th century
