Queen Victoria signed Royal coronation invitation & Certificate of Authenticity
Located in Jersey, GB
A rare official invitation to Queen Victoria's coronation in 1838 Personally signed by Queen Victoria herself Queen Victoria is one of the most iconic figures in world history. Her reign lasted 63 years, which stood as the record up until great-granddaughter Elizabeth II surpassed her in 2015. Britain was at the very height of its wealth and power during the Victorian era. Its colonies covered almost a third of the world’s land mass, making up the largest empire in history. Queen Victoria married her beloved husband Albert in 1840. His sudden death in 1861 at the age of 42 was a blow from which she never recovered. She remained in mourning black for the rest of her days. A highly rare original invitation to the coronation of Queen Victoria at Westminster Abbey in 1838. Signed by Queen Victoria and dated May 9, just two weeks before her 19th birthday. The invitation is addressed to Thomas Powys, 3rd Baron Ilford, a respected peer and leading member of parliament. It reads in full: “Right Trust and Right Well Beloved, We greet you well. Mid-19th Century American Stationary with Manuscript Letter, Signed 1854
Located in Langweer, NL
American stationery with in the top the following text printed: E pluribus unum – Latin for "Out of many, one" (also translated as "One out of many" or "One from many") – is a traditional motto of the United States, appearing on the Great Seal along with Annuit cœptis (Latin for "he approves the undertaking [lit. 'things undertaken']") and Novus ordo seclorum (Latin for "New order of the ages"); its inclusion on the seal was approved by an Act of Congress in 1782. While its status as national motto was for many years unofficial, E pluribus unum was still considered the de facto motto of the United States from its early history. Eventually, the United States Congress passed an act (H. J. Resolution 396), adopting "In God We Trust" as the official motto in 1956. The thirteen letters of E PLURIBUS UNUM makes its use symbolic of the thirteen original states like the thirteen stripes on the US flag. The meaning of the phrase originates from the concept that out of the union of the original Thirteen Colonies emerged a new single nation. It is emblazoned across the scroll and clenched in the eagle's beak on the Great Seal of the United States. (Source: wikipedia) Text below the portraits: "The Presidents of our Great Republic." Letter paper with hand-colored engraving showing the portraits of the 14 presidents of the USA from George Washington up to Franklin Pierce...

Pair of Chinese Silk Lotus Slippers, c. 1850
Located in Chicago, IL
These dainty, pointed slippers, made of blue silk and embroidered with pink flowers, were shaped to resemble a lotus bud and enhanced the diminutive shape of bound feet. A practice that began in the Tang dynasty and reached the height of its popularity in the Qing dynasty, foot binding was a painful process intended to make a woman's feet as small as possible by restricting bone growth from an early age. The smaller the feet the more attractive and erotic they were, giving elite women a mark of elegance and a distinctive - albeit tortured - gait of small, light steps. These embroidered silk lotus slippers...

Abraham Lincoln Signed Military Commission, Dated September 9 1861
Located in Colorado Springs, CO
This war-dated Army commission for Second Lieutenant Joseph Audenried is signed by Abraham Lincoln. The signature is accompanied by a reproduction photograph of Lincoln in 1863. The original commission was signed by Lincoln on September 9, 1861 and assigns Audenned to the famed 1st Regiment of the U.S. Cavalry. Only five months after the start of the American Civil War, Lincoln signed this back-dated commission. Although it was approved September 9th, the promotion states that Audenried would have been Second Lieutenant since June 24, 1861. Exact commission dates were hotly argued among soldiers at the time. Not only did it determine how much an individual should be paid, but it also provided a clear hierarchy valuing seniority among those of the same rank. Immediately preceding this document, the Union had suffered several major losses including the First Battle of Bull Run and the Battle of Wilson’s Creek. Claiming only minor battle victories, the Union was beginning to have doubts about its military leadership and the brevity of the war. The same year Lincoln wrote to a Union General, “He who does something at the head of one Regiment, will eclipse him who does nothing at the head of a hundred.” The First Cavalry was an instrumental part of the Union’s advancements into Confederate territory. Organized by an act of Congress in 1861, most of the cavalry fought in the Peninsula Campaign in Virginia but also played a major role on the Rapidan Line, the Raid of Richmond, and Sheridan’s advancement through the Shenandoah Valley. The commission document signed by President Lincoln also bears the signature of Simon Cameron, then Secretary of War. A re-print photograph of Lincoln accompanies the document. Photographed by Alexander Gardner, this portrait is often referred to as the “Gettysburg Portrait,” seeing as only two weeks later, Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address. Condition: This original signed document...
