About the Item
Piccolette camera, with leather case. Vintage copy produced by Contessa-Nettel, a German company that would later merge with Zeiss Ikon. This small "pocket" camera was designed at the beginning of the 20th century and stands out for its compact design, ideal for carrying in pockets or bags. Constructed from metal coated with black textured material, it features silver metal details on the front panel, including the elegantly engraved "Piccolette" name.
Its rotating shutter and fixed lens hark back to an era of functional simplicity, typical of the early days of portable photography. It used roll film, being one of the practical solutions for amateurs at the time.
Despite visible wear on the camera body, this piece continues to be prized by collectors and photography history enthusiasts as a testament to the ingenuity and industrial design of the 1920s-1930s.
