Stunning 19th century Gothic art pendant with shields and gilt scrolling patterns.
This late 1800s church relic truly has an aura of religiousness about it. This sanctuary pendant is entirely handcrafted and for the most part in solid bronze with a large number of stunning and sharp details. With churches and monasteries being among the richest of institutions in 19th century Europe it often is there where the best quality crafted items were found. This remarkable sanctuary lamp certainly is no exception to that rule. With the trefoil symbol (for the trinity) at the bottom and with the other stunning scrolling floral motifs (all around) this is one of the most beautiful sanctuary lights that we ever had the pleasure of offering. It is all original from top to bottom and it could hardly be in better condition. What makes this church relic extra special is the red mouthblown glass with gilt patterns on it and ofcourse also the embossed Christ is King lettering (in Latin) on the side. This antique truly is a work of religious art in the daytime, but with the candle burning in the evenings it makes this Gothic antique even more divine. It will not light a room like a regular lamp will, but that is not what this antique is about.
