Western Wall Heritage Mezuzah – Hand-Carved Stone by Gideon Bustani
About the Item
This exquisite mezuzah is hand-carved from authentic Jerusalem stone, originally part of the Western Wall. These historic stones, uprooted due to structural shifts over 70 years ago, were later repurposed to cover marble sinks used for ritual handwashing at the Kotel.
Renowned artist Gideon Bustani intricately engraved this mezuzah with floral and architectural motifs, blending ancient tradition with artistic craftsmanship. The top of the piece features a stylized Hebrew letter "Shin", symbolizing "Shaddai," one of the names of God. Below, an ornate depiction of the Temple’s ornamental vessels and a Torah scroll engraving further enhance the sacred essence of the mezuzah.
Inside the mezuzah, a natural ruby stone is embedded—traditionally used as a protective element against the evil eye. The back of the mezuzah bears Gideon Bustani's initials (GB) as a mark of authenticity. Accompanied by a gemological certificate, this masterpiece not only preserves a tangible connection to Jewish heritage but also serves as a symbol of spiritual protection, faith, and historical continuity.
A rare and meaningful artifact, this mezuzah is a testament to Jerusalem’s enduring legacy and devotion.
