About the Item

This huge hand-carved figure shows the protector and patron against fire, Saint Florian. St. Florian is dressed like a roman soldier and his attribute is a water bucket. The figure was made of hand-carved basswood, spruce and metal rings, which are connected with wooden nails. This figure features an outstanding size, the height is 230 cm (90.55 in). Made in the period of Joseph II (the son of the emperor Maria Theresa) in Austria. Good condition with signs of age approx. measures Depth 41.5 cm Width 70 cm Height 230 cm
