Antique Fishing, Robertson Lock Joint Tool

About the Item

Brown Robertson lock joint tool A rare fishing tool, a lock fast joint tool designed to secure and tighten the lock fast joints on split cane fishing rods. Hardy Bros. of Alnwick are famed for their lock fast joints and this tool was designed to help anglers with rods that are fitted with that particular jointing system. The tool has nine different sized holes to cope with all the joint sizes that can be found on the sections of fishing rods. Made of aluminum and stamped with makers details, 'Wm. Robertson, Fishing Tackle, Glasgow, C2.' on one side and 'Brown Robertson Lock Joint Tool, Prov: Patent No. 12722' on the other. The tool is in original condition and can still be used today.
