Rare Late 19th C Art Nouveau Bamboo Walking Stick American Circa 1895

About the Item

Fine quality craftsmanship to this highly figured rare premium hardwood bamboo walking stick; from the fabulous collection of Prince Moritz (1926-2013) who was well known for his extensive collection of art and antiques on behalf of The Foundation of The House of Hess. Delicate well appointed silver mounts adorn the handle, shaft and tip, albeit unmarked, but most definitely silver. The bamboo grain is well pronounced and the original finish is in excellent condition with a fabulous patina and color. There are no repairs, replacements or additions to this beautiful walking stick. Simply an exquisite cane and a nice addition to a fine collection of vintage walking sticks, especially given the Prince Moritz provenance. I have left the descriptive and identifying label on the tip of the cane for posterity. Difficult to discern the genesis but probably American. Dimensions: 35 1/4" long x 4 1/2" deep (handle) x 7/8" wide (shaft)
