About the Item

A striking blend of antique craftsmanship and contemporary artistry, this exceptional display is housed within an original Napoleon III-era glass dome (circa 1890) resting on its ebonized wood base. Inside, a delicate twisting hazelwood branch serves as a natural perch for an array of vividly colored butterflies, meticulously arranged by Hasharat to evoke a dynamic sense of movement. The composition features both antique and modern specimens, including Blue Morpho (Morpho menelaus), Monarch (Danaus plexippus), Red Lacewing (Cethosia biblis), Green-banded Swallowtail (Papilio palinurus), Peacock (Aglais io), Leopard Lacewing (Cethosia cyane), and Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis sennae), among others. The 19th-century dome’s graceful proportions and fine patina lend historical gravitas, while the vibrant butterflies infuse a fresh, contemporary energy—making this a captivating and timeless work for collectors of natural history and decorative arts. Dimensions: 9" depth x 13" width x 20" height.
