About the Item
This hand-crafted ceramic ashtray is signed with an illegible signature, but presumed to have originated from the United States, possibly California, and dating to approximately 1965 and done in the period Mid-Century Modern style. The ashtray is done with a molded ceramic blank in a biomorphic shape and glazed with a mix of cream, turquoise and black swirled slurry with an accent swirl of canary yellow. The ashtray is signed on the bottom with impressed capital letters, but are filled with glaze, such that the artist could not be identified.
