Ceramic Piggy Bank by Eva Jancke Björk, Bo Fajans, 1940s
About the Item
A charming piggy bank designed by Eva Jancke Björk for Bo Fajans. While the piggy banks from Bo Fajans may share similar shapes, each one boasts a distinct hand-painted face and attire, making them unique. This particular piggy bank takes the form of a boy, with a beige-colored base glaze complemented by brown, chestnut brown, and green decorative elements. These piggy banks were produced during the period from 1944 to 1948.
The designer Eva Jancke-Björk (1882 - 1981) worked at the Bobergs Fajansfabrik in Gävle, Sweden, between the years 1925 and 1956. She has designed a number of objects in various styles, but perhaps mainly ornaments, tea, coffee and fruit sets.
