1930s Globe in Bakelite and Brass, manufactured by Philips for Swedish organisation Folket i Bild, famous for promoting popular education, civic democracy and engagement. Depicts the world before the Second World War. Country and place names in Swedish. 1935-1939
Base made of bakelite, consisting of a larger volume which serves as a base for the smaller diamond shaped volume which sits atop the larger one. Foot in brass upon which sits the globe in painted paper. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor paper damage around the Canton Island.
