Contemporary Room Divider in Brazilian Hardwood by Leo Strauss
About the Item
The Sarrafo Room Divider is a furniture-art. Its multifunctional aspect enables you to use it in different environments and for multiple functions.
Inspired by the simplicity of the elongated and narrow form of the wooden slat, the Sarrafo Room Divider expresses the individual beauty and its force as a collective. It is possible to contemplate the casual movement of randomness and notice the singularity among each part that makes it up.
The Solid Wood adds life to this piece and shows that diversity is everywhere, despite it is a single species.
Sarrafo Room Divider is a piece that values the handmade work. From each seen angle it is possible to notice new shapes and feel their transformation.
Composition in modules enables you to expand the piece's dimensions, occupy large areas and diversify its applications.
The leveler foot and the hinges are in brass and were designed especially for this piece.

Oficio Leo Strauss
If, for a moment, you could dialog with a furniture, what stories it would tell?
It would talk about the memories of which it is a part, of and the invitations addressed to the touch, the glance and the feeling.
They would be narratives entangled by the textures of their raw materials, by their shades and the expression of their shapes.
As a graduate designer and a passionate craftsman, I intend to awaken the senses through unique works of art.
The multi-disciplinary techniques of traditional woodwork, combined with singular materials and design, make up the label of Ofício I Léo Strauss.
In the works, each detail is part of the whole and narrates these stories. Léo Strauss was born in 1975 in the city of São Paulo. He studied industrial design at the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado where he had his first contact with the art and crafts workshops.
As an art director, at the beginning of the years 2000, he moved between graphic and digital languages, when the internet began to gain strength in advertising and influence the communication and arts market.
From the creative restlessness to the ability of creating handmade works, it is born the need to transform ideas and intentions in art and matter.

"Conogó" Colored Partition Screen in Hardwood, Brazilian Contemporary Design
By Noemi Saga Atelier
Located in Sao Paulo, BR
This contemporary style partition screen or room divider, painted in MDF, is made of sucupira hardwood. Named the Conogó, this partition screen is art–furniture.
Its constructive and aesthetic inspiration is a mix of references that goes from several fields, from universal cultural roots to contemporary art.
In one hand, Conogó’s constructive form and its use of simple materials references the work of indigenous ancestors and their connection with nature. On the other hand, its play with optical illusion, rhythm and movement creates dialogue with contemporary Kinetic art.
