Elegant Six-Panel Japanese Screen, 1920s
Fascinating 1920s screen with details of fine Japanese workmanship. The screen, composed of six lacquered panels, rests on bracket feet with brass sabots.
Main Features:
- Design: decoration on black lacquer background with fine mother-of-pearl and gemstone inserts. Naturalistic scenes with characters, houses, gardens, animals and birds.
- Decoration techniques: bas-relief decorations made with lacquer, colored resins, and semi-precious stones, embellished with gold details.
- Back: lacquered black with elegant gold decorations depicting branches and birds.
Dimensions: Total length 240 cm (each panel 40 cm), height 182 cm, panel thickness 3 cm.
