18th C. Spanish Colonial Ornate Hand Carved Wood Storage Box 'All Sides Carved!'

About the Item

A Spanish Colonial carved-wood storage box from the 18th century. This antique Spanish Colonial period chest has rectangular shape with flat topside, which has been adorned with heavy foliate theme hand-carvings about the top and all four sides (which is rare to find!) and fitted with iron hardware. The top lifts to show open storage within. This piece is in spectacular shape for its centuries old age, and is a really good example of Spanish Colonial design! This late 18th century Spanish Colonial box will make a great decorative case-piece, perfect for holding documents or other keepsakes within, and would be fabulous displayed atop a console or dresser.
