An exceptional 17th century Marriage Trunk - Malle - from the Provence region of France. Soundly constructed from wood and clad in leather. Beautifully decorated with bronze nail heads in the form of petite flowers forming a bouquet of flowers, fleur de lis, a crown and putti. A sensational coffre for the base of a bed, under a picture window or behind the sofa.
