About the Item

A large 19th century iron bound painted marriage trunk. The exterior of this truck is painted blue with colorful flower baskets and arrangements on its facade with the monogram, “B S S” and the date, 1834. The dommed truck top is painted with floral patterns and opens on forged iron hinges using its original spring loaded lock and key. Large forged iron handles are found on each end. The interior opens to a large storage area lined with old newspapers and has the classic candle box in the top right corner.
