Two 1940s Royalshire Ever-Wear Trunk Works Green Embossed Leather Suitcases

About the Item

Two 1940's vintage "Royalshire Ever-Wear Trunk Works" suitcases in a dark green alligator pattern, made of embossed cowhide with lovely stitching detail. The interior is fabric lined in a dark green material. The larger case has a fitted storage section on the upper interior lid. The smaller case has an elastic pocket on lid. Both have lower side and back elastic pockets and ribbon ties. There are two heavy duty brass flip locks on each case. The corners are sturdy and reinforced with brass on the hinged areas. The underside of each case with brass "feet" to protect the leather from wear. These cases are hard to find particularly in the green colorway with a green interior. Other examples of these cases have been offered and sold for significant sums. Dimensions: Larger Case: 21"w x 8.5"d x 15.5"h (plus approx 2" handle height) Smaller Case: 21"w x 6.5"d x 12"h (plus approx 2" handle height) Condition: Good. There is some minor scuffing and wear, especially at corners (please see photos). The fabric lined dark green interior is intact, clean and odorless. Patina appropriate to age. Two flip locks Leather on handles shows age and use. Handles still function. One lock on the smaller case does not fully close.
