A wonderful Liberty & Co. Arts & Crafts (attributed) copper log box, dating to circa 1900-1910, with excellent patina and colour. Entirely cased in planished copper with hand made rivets.
The design on the lid is of a stylized triquetra associated with the Celtic Mother Goddess and depicted her triune nature (the maiden, the mother, and the wise, old woman). Later, Irish and Scottish monks adopted the Triquetra as a symbol of the Christian Trinity known as a celtic cross.
