About the Item

Italian floor lectern, rare 1600s Folding Carved Wood lectern, made of dark wood, has the two support elements hinged in the middle part, carved with plant motifs and connected in the center by a similarly turned crossbar that allows the lectern to be scissor-folded, to make it into a mobile version that can be opened as needed. The uprights at the ends are joined by crossbars with the same notch. This fascinating lectern is a Lombard manufacture from the late 17th century. The canvas top is missing the original leather covering, only traces of which can be glimpsed on the profiles, edged with studs. The overall state of preservation is fair, with deficiencies consistent with dating, see one foot to be supplemented to improve its stability. Any restoration is not included in the price. Period: c. 1680 Height: 156 - open 148 cm Width: 52cm Depth: 13 - open 63 cm The lectern is shipped from Italy, by current Italian law, every antique must have a government export license, called Belle Arti. The time for application and issuance of this license takes 2 to 3 weeks to be added to the shipping time.
