19th Century French Polished Copper and Iron Milk Can with Locking Lid

About the Item

Bring vintage farmhouse charm to your kitchen or garden with this antique French milk can. Crafted in France circa 1890, the piece is made of hand-hammered copper with a rich, naturally aged patina and warm golden tones. Its traditional cylindrical form features a flared neck, broad shoulders, and reinforced base ring, offering both rustic beauty and functional design. The lid is secured with a heavy swing arm and locking latch mechanism—an ingenious feature once used to seal in freshness and prevent spillage during transport. A curved side handle adds practicality for carrying, and the hinged lid opens wide for easy access to the interior. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, this piece serves beautifully as a decorative object, umbrella stand, or unique vase. A fine example of utilitarian French craftsmanship with enduring appeal. Measures: 11" diameter 21" height.
