A fabulous vintage nursery designer’s guild English fabric pillow toys with Irish linen cushion large this is a one-of-a-kind item and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from a repurposed, up-cycled, recycled fabric, used with the intentions on promoting a more eco-friendly environment. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials. (This cushion frame can also be reversed back into a scarf and presented in a frame on request) Description: Custom made one-of-a-kind large oversized luxury ‘floor’ pillow (cushion to our European customers) handcrafted from an exquisite and rare piece of vintage Designer’s Guild fabric in a striking design. Charming illustrations of the contents of a toy box featuring a horse, train set carriage, drum, nutcracker style solider, clown, rag doll and jack-in-a-box set against a geometric diamond ground executed in a painterly manner with watercolor qualities. This pattern, named ‘Merry-go-Round' is particularly special as it was part of the very first Designer’s Guild exclusive kids collection. Established in 1970 by Tricia Guild, this high end British interior design emporium on London’s Kings Road is known for their eye popping wallpaper and drapery. They produce incredibly ornate, wildly over-the-top, yet remarkably tasteful patterns, often elaborate florals. Internationally renowned for her passion for color, pattern and texture as well as her books, and ethos being ‘color is good for the heart and soul’. Interestingly they collaborated with the iconic designer fashion brand Christian Lacroix for his interior fabrics. From an unused roll and only one available, hand-picked by Katie at ‘Kempton’ antiques market on the outskirts of London. On a sumptuous thick, durable, quality cotton. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo wadding, filled with new plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The traditional oatmeal color linen is a combination of the unbleached raw color of the natural flax plant on the weft intertwined with pristine white on the warp, resulting in a beautiful mottled effect. Would be a superb statement piece to one’s interior, in particular a child’s nursery or bedroom, it would also make a spectacular Christening or festive Christmas gift. Contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric. Handcrafted in Ireland By designer-maker Katie Larmour Design Studio Colors (colors): Primary, rust, peach, pink red, pink, Barbie, ivory, off-white, brown, yellow ochre, orange, blue and soft black.
