Antique Sistan Baluch Three Mihrab Prayer Rug

About the Item

Antique Sistan Baluch Three Mihrab prayer rug. This is a good small example of a seh-mihrab (three mihrab) prayer rug by the Sistan Baluch, the rug is well drawn and has wonderful contrast of colour. Note the original end finishes with the decorative tufts and tassels along with weft work decoration. There are two very small highlight details in green silk, this shows the importance of the rug to the weaver. The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear, and good pile. The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use. Additional information: Age: Circa 1920 Size: 4ft 4in x 2ft 6in (132 x 76cm).
