About the Item

A beautiful antique Kurdish rug from the southern Caucasus, distinguished by its range of natural dyes, which include a rich indigo blue background, embellished by jewel-like tonalities of white, red, yellow and light blue. The central motif is composed of a close sequence of five stepped lozenges with white hooked contours, and is framed by an unusually wide border embellished by polychrome hooked motifs. This tribal rug is in excellent condition - full lustrous pile, original sides and flat-woven ends - and is the perfect scatter rug for use in high traffic areas such as entry halls or corridors. The brilliant palette and the geometric design makes it ideal for a broad range of interiors, from traditional antique to contemporary.
