Antique Caucasian Rug, circa 1920

About the Item

This carpet is hand woven in the Caucasus region of Kazak. The unusual striking gold background of this carpet,and other characteristics of the rug suggest that this rug was woven by an artist weaver for personal use and not for the market. The plush soft wool, dyed with all organic elements makes this carpet a fantastic example of kazak weaving. there are no restorations on this rug and one small area of wear was found, otherwise the rug is in full pile and mint condition. Measures: 5’10”x4’9”.
