About the Item
Crafted in a rare room-sized format, this Kuba Konagend is perfectly suited to be placed under coffee tables, among other places, providing a celebration of colors within geometrical abstract designs.
Two oversized deep madder medallions, co-joined through the middle, form the bulk of the field of this Kuba Konagend rug. The rug emphasizes an expert use of color signified by the powerfully deep madder and navy-blue colors which are accented by hints of ivory and gold all throughout.
On either end of the medallions are octagonal cartouches ornate with tribal motifs next to obelisk-like structures. Within the medallions themselves are interesting diagonal cross-like designs with navy-blue octagonal cartouches inscribed within. The inner main border consists of polychrome palmettes laid over a deep red while the outer border contains polychrome village motifs over an ivory color.
